The International Association “Europassion” was born in 1992 and it re-unite all the main associations that in Europe organised the “Passion” of Jesus Chist’s sacrifice. The headqurter sede is in Ligny in Belgium. The Cat has taken part since 1994 and participated even to the approval of the international statuto.
The main goal of “Europassion” is that to revaluate the meaning of the Christ’s Passion with the integration and cultural exchange among the different European realities, but even to trasmettere the message of the Vangelo through many artistic shapes. Now there 60 organisations of 16 European countries which take part of “Europassion”.
The Cat of Grassina is always been present at the meetings and conferences. On 27/28 March 1999 organised a meeting in the major Italian cities which take part of the Association.
The Meeting took part in Grassina and by the Oratorio di Santa Caterina where were present the mayor of our town, the President L. Bartolini who spoke about the “Holy Week and moderinity” and about the various representations. At this Meeting there were Maurice Clos and Josef Lang, who are the President and the General Secretary of “Europassion” and the wonderful proposal of Prof. Arnaldo Nesti of the University of Florence.
In 2002 our association with the Tuscany Region, la Provincia and Comune di Firenze, il Comune di Bagno a Ripoli and the Foundation of the circle of Fratelli Rosselli, has organised a Conference on peace in the Middle East that took part on 23/24 March in Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
At this Meeting there are high personalities of the jewish and islamic culture and authorities of various religions.
During this Meeting was created the “Florence Charta” for peace addressed to the International Community. There were present even some people of “Europassion”. The work of International Association continues till today with main goals in order to favour the relationships among the various organisations and in order to qualify the representations and their social and cultural meaning.
