The "Centro di Attività Turistica" of Grassina was born in  1983 from some people of Grassina who wanted to refresh the ancient popular traditions.
One among others The Historical Commemoration of Good Friday, that was next many generations from 1700 up now.
There were so many in that first years of eighties which with a strong tenacy rebuilt and improve what was destroyed in the Florence flood of 1966. Around volunteers of the centre got together a hundred of Grassina people who bought their own money costumes prepared by themselves to take part of Historical Rievocation of Good Friday and at the scenes of "Calvary".
These are the presidents of CAT: Patrizio Pellegrini (years 1983-84; 87-88), Umberto Sardelli (years 1985-86), Luciano Bartolini (1989-2003).
This last president has impressed a new change in the programs and for Easter Grassina has been known with cultural and popular feasts which rotates around the Historical Commemoration. From 2004 the president of CAT is Giancarlo Bernini.
